Teaching
Naomi is a driven, compassionate and unique music educator. With over 10 years of teaching experience Naomi’s experience spans internationally across the UK, Australia, Canada, and Samoa. She has taught in a variety of settings including 1-1 lessons, group lessons, workshops, orchestral leading and ensemble conducting. She has experience taking hundreds of students over the years through various exam boards including ABRSM, Trinity and AMEB.
Naomi not only has experience teaching lessons, she is also a successful ensemble conductor. Her concert bands have won prestigious Gold and Silver awards at the Sydney Band Festival in 2018 and 2019 and she has a passion for inspiring young musicians to take part in ensembles. Naomi currently conducts four ensembles in the North West. Naomi has enjoyed developing her teaching further since arriving in Manchester. Naomi teaches privately and she held the flute teacher position at Ampleforth College in York, she also teaches in SEND ensembles across Manchester, she has delivered music workshops in schools and she also enjoys a freelance performance career.
Naomi also has a history of contributing to music education management having held positions in both Australia and the UK in Music Education Management. Naomi is not only committed to her own students but to expanding music departments, developing programs and creating a space for other teachers to be their best selves.
As a part of her studies Naomi has completed two dissertations in the subject of instrumental practice motivation and believes that inspiration, passion, and positivity drive motivation as a musician for life. Her most recent research is in the area of music education and social change.

Naomi is committed to being an inclusive educator. She has experience teaching all levels from beginner to early professional and all ages from 5 year old to adult. Naomi is also committed to ensuring everyone is able to access a music education. You are encouraged to share any access needs, medical information or SEND needs when getting in touch. Naomi will always cater her lessons to suit the needs of each individual student.

Yes! Naomi has lots of experience guiding students with picking the instrument best suited to them. Having worked in instrument stores in the past Naomi has a variety of knowledge and will devote time to helping you make the best decision.

Costs vary depending on lesson length and location. Please be aware Naomi is unable to travel to your home but may be able to teach you in one of her current teaching locations or recommend another local provider. Please contact Naomi directly for a simple and easy quote.
